Eric Ree: Vocals, Rythm Guitar
As lead singer and frontman for The American Wake, Eric is the focal point of the action at the live shows and the voice of the band in the recorded material. His amazing voice allows him to blast through the hardest of the revved up Irish tunes as well as captivate the audience with some of the more traditional material. Growing up in the Orange County punk scene, Eric spent a lot of time in the clubs seeing the seminal bands of the day. A friend turned him on to a Santa Monica duo who were gaining popularity with their stage presence and great renditions of Irish tunes. Eric was hooked. He traded the electric guitar for an acoustic, learned as many traditional songs as he could get his hands on and set out to find a band. The old club days and the new Irish experience formed a singer and frontman that perfectly leads The American Wake’s full throttle style. Eric’s ability to convey the feeling behind the lyrics make his renditions of the songs, whether original or traditional, truly his own.
