Chris Hatt : Bass Guitar, Vocals
As a member of such progressive, experimental punk bands as Eighth Cranial Nerve and Dean Martin’s Liver, Chris Hatt played all over Southern California in the 80s and early 90s. A regular at a local Irish bar, Chris had been around Irish music for years, but knew that what he was seeing was lacking something. His work at a local music store led to a meeting with Frank LaBlanc that brought him into The American Wake. Even though the sound of the band was not quite there yet, Chris knew that the energy and passion was there to create something combining the elements of the music he had been playing with the vibe of the pub. Chris’ ability to mix styles of playing and his knack for finding the punk rock element of any traditional Irish song made him a perfect fit for the band. Many years and many pints later, Chris is still pushing the band forward.
